Thuy phap debuts in Brussels
A Vietnamese martial art, Thuy Phap, has made its public debut at a ceremony in Brussels last week in the presence of Ambassador Phan Thuy Thanh.Thuy Phap was introduced to Belgium in 2002 by martial art instructor Huynh Chieu Duong, and now attracts hundreds of practitioners of all ages, both Vietnamese and Belgian. Various classes are being held across Belgium including five classes for adults.
Due to its health benefits, Thuy Phap has been included in the official curriculum at several schools in Brussels since the 2004-05 academic year, along side Teakwondo and Judo.
Instructor Huynh Duc Chieu said the Thuy Phap organisation aims to expand into other European countries.
